Some cool fantasy themed videos from the Internet

There’s some really cool fantasy-themed things people have done amazing things with and uploaded to Youtube, so since I’ve not been hugely active in the last few weeks – thanks to a week in France and some long days at work recently – I thought I’d post a few to fill the gap until I can get some other content together. So, in no particular order, here are a few of my favourites:

Skyrim – Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens

Lindsey Stirling has some great fantasy-themed videos with beautifully-played music, cool costumes and breathtaking landscapes – not to mention some energetic poses – but I think this one if my favourite because there’s a bit of a story to it, the costumes are just way awesome, and I just generally love the Skyrim theme music.

The French and The Saunders: Lord of the Rings

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders were a great comedy duo and I love watching either or both or them in anything they do, and they’ve not shirked with this charming and irreverent take on the Lord of the Rings movies. There are a few very British references like a Blue Peter badge and a certain Welsh town name, but there’s plenty for the rest of you too.

Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise

No list of fantasy videos is complete without this fun little Harry Potter-related puppet tune.

Buffy vs Edward: Twilight remixed

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was such a great show. It subverts expectations from the very first scene, and does it with a great balance of humour and seriousness.  And this little fan-made video uses footage from both franchises to show what might happen in Buffy and Edward encountered one another. It works nicely, though Buffy undergoes a few costume changes within scenes.

Cello Wars Lightsaber duel from ThePianoGuys

Okay, not exactly fantasy, but not far off. Well, to some Star Wars is fantasy in space rather than sci-fi. I can go with that. This is a great performance of the Star Wars theme music accompanying and framing an affectionate parody of the series. Also ThePianoGuys are awesome in general.
